Aunt Joy was a very sweet lady one of the great ones. She lived a very rich life and raised a loving family. May she rest in peace.

Mom, you were one of the strongest women I know and I loved you. You cared, cooked and cleaned for 6 children, a husband and 2 dogs. You worked full time and ran two homes; one in town, one at the lake. You taught me your love for crafting and swimming and to be a hard worker. I'm always be grateful. I will miss our Monday morning phone calls and all the laughs we shared. You will live on in my memories and I will never forget your beautiful smile. Your daughter, Patricia

I had three great sisters Joy was the middle one, not sure if that was a problem for her but she had me to thank for changing that!
For some reason I seemed closer to her, somewhat like personalities, I guess.
During her late teens early adulthood, I remember seeing a lot of her and Bill at our house. Later in life, lots of visits at the cottage and went on trips with them to San Francisco, Los Angeles, Texas, Arizona, Las Vegas, Florida, Disney World, Cornwall (where our Mom and Dad were born) and London England.
So a lot of time in her life and oddly enough then a lot of time for me in Kathy and Joni's lives.
I always felt she was the best looking of the four of us and the smartest as well. I remember her being more outgoing and more sports like. She was strong, compassionate, and kind, just don't cross her!
She was good for, and to me, brought a great man into our life who was kind to our mother and an education for me.
Joy showed her compassion when she intervened and smoothed the way for me when I damaged their car and Mother was some mad, I also used her to tell Betty about our Mother's Death, she just seemed to be more able to control her emotions.
Her kindness that I remember her for was taking in various nephews and cousins taking them into their home and straightening out their lifestyle. It also was there when you played buck and a quarter, cards with her she would always help you get your best score even though she was a fierce competitor.
A personal thanks for Kathy and Joni and their families for making her last few years with us absolutely wonderful.
Joy had a long and very interesting life.
Say hello to Mom when you get there!
Love Bob

We have many fond memories of Aunty Joy. From when we were young and she would bake our favourite banana loaf and she always made an extra one we could take home. Still think of her when I smell banana loaf baking.
She was so young at heart and even in her nineties she seemed so much younger and stronger than she was. I remember at a gathering at my moms when there weren’t enough chairs for everyone, Aunty Joy and my mom were quick to sit on the floor just to prove to the rest of us how young they still were.
Love you and miss you Aunty Joy. Your nieces Linda, Brenda and Debbie.

Instead of missing you mom, I’m going to remember you every single day and be so thankful for the memories I have of us laughing, singing, joking, playing and loving. You made my world a better place.
