Obituary of George Whelan

C’est avec une grande tristesse que nous vous annonçons le décès de M. George Whelan, décédé le 18 octobre 2025, à l'âge de 82 ans.

Conjoint bien-aimé de Simone Leblanc.

Il laisse dans le deuil ses beaux-enfants; Nicole Pelletier (feu Michel) et Rachelle Leblanc (Maurice St-Pierre), ses petits-enfants; Ashley Brennan (Nicholas Williams), Catherine Clairoux (Sonny Gill), Patrick Pelletier (Sarah), Dominik Clairoux (Danyka Gour) et Émilie-Danielle Pelletier, ses arrière-petits-enfants; Emerick, Océanne, Norah et Olivier, ainsi que ses membres de famille et ami(e)s.

Prédécédé par ses parents Raoul et Blanche (née Blanchet) Whelan.

La famille et les amis sont invités à se rassembler au Salon Funéraires Laurent Hill, 874, rue Notre Dame, Embrun, ON, jeudi le 30 octobre 2025, de 9h à 13h. Un service religieux sera célébré à l’église St-Guillaume de Vars à 14h. Suivi par une réception au Centre communautaire de Sarsfield.

Beloved spouse of Simone Leblanc.

Loving stepfather of Nicole Pelletier (feu Michel) and Rachelle Leblanc (Maurice St-Pierre).

Cherished grandfather of Ashley Brennan (Nicholas Williams), Catherine Clairoux (Sonny Gill), Patrick Pelletier (Sarah), Dominik Clairoux (Danyka Gour) and Émilie-Danielle Pelletier.

Adored great-grandfather of Emerick, Océanne, Norah and Olivier.

George will be dearly missed by his family members and by his friends.

Predeceased by his parents Raoul and Blanche (née Blanchet) Whelan.

Family and friends are invited to gather at Laurent Hill Funeral Home, 874 Notre Dame Street, Embrun, ON, on Thursday, October 30, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. A religious service will be celebrated at St-Guillaume Church in Vars, at 2 p.m. Followed by a reception at the Sarsfield Community Centre.

Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
